NAVIGATE is a long standing Primary Value Added reseller (VAR) of the PSMA Australia national geospatial datasets. We are able to provide geospatial data under licence to both the end user and other secondary VARs who wish to embed PSMA data into their own products. Our major value add lies in our ability to restructure and reformat the datasets into geospatial database ready products in any GIS or DBMS format.

PSMA (Public Sector Mapping Agencies) Australia Limited is an unlisted public company wholly owned by the state, territory and Australian Governments.

They combine reliable spatial data from Australia’s governments with leading-edge technology to create national spatial information datasets. Navigate present the PSMA data in meaningful and useful ways for a wide range of industry, government and community uses that deliver economic, environmental and social benefits to Australia.

PSMA Australia’s digital mapping datasets currently includes five major themes:

  • roads and other topographic data

  • geocoded street addresses (GNAF)

  • cadastral boundaries

  • government boundaries

  • points of interest—such as police and fire stations, post offices, hospitals, churches, museums.

PSMA Australia was originally formed in 1983 as the Public Sector Mapping Agency (PSMA) to represent all of the state, territory and Commonwealth land information agencies in a project to integrate the best available map data, for a national digital map base of Australia. The project was originally conceived in order to support the Australian Bureau of Statistics 1996 Census.
